Music lovers, take note! Enjoy performances by two maestros at the 2nd Annual Corvallis Guitar Festival on June 8 and 9 at the First Presbyterian Church (114 SW 8th Street).
The Festival kicks off Friday night with Cameron O’Conner in concert, a Juilliard-trained classical guitarist and the head of Oregon State University’s new guitar program.
Saturday night’s performance features internationally-renowned guitarist Grisha Goryachev, a Russian-born virtuoso of flamenco and classical styles.
Saturday also offers a full day of free workshops, including a morning masterclass with Goryachev and afternoon workshops with O’Conner, Tom Strini, Berto Boyd, Grant Ruiz, Mickey Jones, and Mario Diaz.
“Inspiration and participation are our two goals,” says Jon Sharp, co-founder of the Corvallis Guitar Society. “We bring in the world’s best guitarists to inspire people and do free workshops to encourage people to play.”
