Brand Steakhouse Hits the Spot

Corvallis has recently seen a succession of high-end restaurants opening around the core of downtown. The latest restaurant to be added to this growing list is Brand Steakhouse, a fine-dining establishment that hopes to stand apart from the brewpubs typically found in the area. 

First Impressions
Co-owned by Jeremy Kumm and current Impulse Bar & Grill owner Sebastian Gallegos, the pair aim to make Brand Steakhouse a destination eatery – a place where people go to appreciate a prime cut of steak cooked to mouthwatering perfection.

Upon entering the updated restaurant for the first time, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the beautiful crystal chandeliers that outlined the interior space. Located in the space previously known as House of Brews, the decor was completely revamped, using many repurposed materials from the now closed Albany restaurant, The Still.  

The style of the interior is a fancy twist on what I would refer to as western rustic. The walls are covered in reclaimed barn wood, and the bar boasts a tin roof hovering over a copper penny inlaid bar surface. The main dining area has a large open space surrounded by roomy booths that help to set the cozy, yet elegant look and feel of the restaurant.

What’s on the Menu?
The menu mainly revolves around four cuts of steak, including ribeye, filet mignon, flat iron, and NY strip. On the low end, a 6-ounce flat iron steak goes for $24, while on the high end a 20-ounce ribeye will cost you $65. You can also choose from sauces like Béarnaise or Red Wine Demi Glacé to accompany your steak. 

The choice cuts of steaks are cooked using the Sous Vide method and, based on the filet mignons my table guests and I had during the soft opening, executive chef Ted Witte really knows how to deliver a tender and delicious steak.

There are a few other unique dishes that Brand Steakhouse offers on their menu. These are entrées you’re not likely to find at any other restaurant in town, including delectable plates like lobster macaroni and cheese, beer can chicken, and bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin. Fresh lobster and crab will also be available soon, and you’ll be able to make your seafood choice straight out of the large glass tank located in the front of house dining room. 

Brunch will also be served on the weekends, which includes bottomless mimosas. Prime rib and eggs will be available, along with chicken & waffles, biscuits & gravy, and a smoked fish plate.

Brand Steakhouse is now open for business. Located at 140 B NW 3rd Street, their hours are 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sundays.
