It’s go time, folks: the 47th annual Oregon Country Fair is at hand. Not your average fair, the event is held on 280 wooded acres and lasts for three days, from Friday, July 8 until Sunday, July 10. If you’re familiar with the festival it needs no introduction, but for you newcomers, expect a whole lot of entertainment, handmade items, food, and community-based culture.
Started in 1969, the Oregon Country Fair aims to create an experience that nourishes the spirit, explores living artfully and authentically on Earth, and seeks to transform culture in magical, joyous ways. Vendors sell handcrafted items as they are surrounded by people, most of whom dress up in homemade costumes. There is no Zipper ride, but the connections and adventure you have will make this one of the most magical fairs you’ve ever attended. Come prepared to sing, dance, and experience new things.
The 47th Oregon Country Fair runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the event dates in Veneta, just 13 miles west of Eugene. Ticket prices vary based on purchase date and how many days you attend. For more information about tickets, visit www.oregoncountryfair.org/
