On Saturday, June 25 the Corvallis and Benton County Library will be holding its first annual Bookin’ It Library 5k Fun Run and 1 mile Family Fun Run event. In helping to promote fitness, fun, health, and literacy, the Bookin’ It event is part of this year’s summer library theme “On Your Mark, Get Set… READ.”
The Bookin’ It 5k will start at the Riverfront Commemorative Park in downtown Corvallis, south of the farmers’ market, to Avery Park, and finish under a race arch just south of 1st Street and Monroe Avenue. The Family Fun Run starts and ends at the same location but loops around Eric Scott McKinley Skate Park.
Both runs are fun and noncompetitive. Everyone who finishes in the run will be included in a prize drawing. As a bonus, participants are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite book character or author. Volunteers are welcome, and first aid stations and refreshments will be provided.
Register for the Bookin’ It Library 5K and 1 mile Family Fun Run online at cbcpubliclibrary.net/bookinit/ until Friday, June 24 at 6 p.m. Registration on the day of the event begins at 8:30 a.m. The 5K Fun Run start time is 10 a.m. and the 1 mile Family Fun Run start time is 10:30 a.m. This event is free and open to the public.
