When the Graphic Novel Book Club sits down at New Morning Bakery they usually need two or more tables pushed together, and reference librarian Bonnie Brzozowski kicks things off with a list of questions for the group to discuss. Typically the group strays from those questions and chew on other questions, but then nobody is standing on formality, either.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, you can often check out upcoming titles and new members are always welcomed. Volume 1 of Greg Rucka’s Lazarus will be discussed on Tuesday, Jan. 5; the next Book Club selection will be Jules Feiffer’s Kill My Mother on Tuesday, Feb. 2. The spring list will be decided upon by the members between now and February, and members are invited (indeed, urged) to submit nominations.
If you want to know more, you can talk with Brzozowski or another staffer at the library, or you can visit the Facebook page, “Corvallis Graphic Novel Book Club at New Morning Bakery.” The Graphic Novel Book Club meets at the New Morning Bakery at 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month to discuss its chosen title each month.
