The Corvallis Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first ever Healthy Living and Sports Expo. The expo will feature booths by area professionals in the fields of fitness, health, safety, aging, sports, and wellness. Exhibitors include Downing’s Gym, Youtopia Day Spa, Mudslinger Events, the Corvallis Knights, and many more.
Guest speakers will lead demonstrations and inform crowds throughout the day. These will include an exercise physiologist, a chiropractic physician, a dermatologist, and a nutrition educator. Other topics to be discussed are endocrinology, sleep medicine, and the value of multivitamins. Likely the biggest scheduled attraction is an appearance by NFL offensive lineman Paul McQuistan, who attended Lebanon High School. The football journeyman has played with four teams since being drafted from Weber State in 2006. McQuistan is currently a member of the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks.
Corvallis Chamber Executive Director Kevin Dwyer hopes this will be a dynamic event and become an annual tradition. “I think there’s something here for everybody,” he said. “Everybody’s got some sort of health challenge.” He hopes most of those challenges can be addressed at one time under one roof.
There is still space available for healthcare professionals, businesses, and non-profit organizations interested in renting vendor booths. Applications will be taken until Monday, April 7.
The expo will take place on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club at 1112 NW Circle Boulevard. For more information, go to www.corvallischamber.com, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 541-757-1505. Admission is free.
