By Kyra Young

manningBeing mayor is bound to present many challenges, especially in a college town like Corvallis. On Monday, Dec. 8 at the Corvallis City Club meeting, outgoing mayor Julie Manning will offer insights into her last four years leading the city. In an interview with Gazette-Times editor Mike McNally, Manning will share her views about the job, and will address issues such as the most interesting parts of her job, the most rewarding, the biggest surprises, toughest issues she has faced, how she managed to balance being mayor with her day job at Samaritan, and many more. She’ll also give advice for anyone who may be thinking about taking on a role as a city volunteer or elected representative.
