There’s nothing like the comforting woosh of central heating on a cold day. For many low-income families, heat is more a dream than a reality. The Community Services Consortium administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for Benton, Lincoln, and Linn counties, and will start taking applications from qualified households in November.
Those with a gross monthly income of less than 60% of the state median—$1,792.16 for a single person household and $3,446.41 for four-person families—can receive assistance. Appointments for seniors and disabled individuals start Nov. 1. General public appointments start Dec. 1. To schedule an appointment, call the number associated with your county of residence:
Benton County: 541-752-2840
Lincoln County: 541-265-3293
Linn County: 541-926-7163
