The Glenn Miller Orchestra at the Whiteside. Whiteside Theatre, 361 SW Madison Ave., Corvallis. 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra is the most popular and sought after big band in the world today for both concert and swing dance engagements. With its unique jazz sound, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is considered to be one of the greatest bands of all time. The present Glenn Miller Orchestra was formed in 1956 and has been touring consistently since, playing an average of 300 live dates a year all around the world. As of January 2012, Nick Hilscher is the orchestra’s music director. General Admission $30, $25 for ages 65 and up, 12 years or younger.

Saturday, March 29
Chintimini Kennel Club Dog Show, Obedience & Rally Trials. Linn County Fair and Expo Center, 3700 Knox Butte Rd. East, Albany. 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. If you love dogs, bring the family to see the Chintimini Kennel Club Dog Show, where over 150 different breeds compete in an AKC show. Mixed breeds are included for Obedience and Rally Trials. The Columbia River Agility Club will have agility Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the same site. The show is free, but parking is $5.

Saturday, March 29
The Svens at Cloud & Kelly’s Public House. 126 SW 1st St., Corvallis. 9 p.m. Corvallis-based group The Svens return to Cloud & Kelly’s to perform their unique style of cowboy prose, poetry and surf-rock! Cover $5.

Thursday, April 3
Spring Volunteer Mixer. The Majestic Theatre, 115 SW 2nd St., Corvallis. 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. The Majestic Theatre invites current and future volunteers to its Spring Volunteer Mixer. We will be celebrating the hard work and dedication of our volunteer community with food, drinks, and a chance to mix and mingle with fellow volunteers and theatre staff! Volunteers will be introduced to the new Volunteer Coordinator and House Manager of the Majestic. At the event, volunteers can sign up for upcoming opportunities throughout the season, including helping out with GYPSY! Volunteering at the Majestic is a great way to see performances while supporting the local arts community.
