Agnieszka Laska Dancers. Majestic Theatre, 115 NW 2nd St., Corvallis. 7:30 p.m. May 29, 2013 marked the 100th anniversary of the world premiere of The Rite of Spring, featuring a revolutionary musical score by lgor Stravinsky, plus visionary and innovative choreography by Vaslav Nijinsky. Join us as we celebrate this exciting anniversary with the ground-breaking Portland, OR based dance company, the Agnieszka Laska Dancers. The performance will be accompanied by two live pianists and will feature talented dancers from the NW and beyond. $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

The Changing Course of Higher Education in Oregon. Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, 645 NW Monroe Avenue, Corvallis. 7 to 8:45 p.m. Presentations and discussion by panel members from Oregon State University, Linn-Benton Community College and Higher Education Commission. This event is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Corvallis and Corvallis-Benton County Library. Free Admission.

Art Reception: Howland Community Open. The Arts Center, 700 SW Madison Ave., Corvallis. 7:30 p.m. The annual Ruth and Jim Howland Community Open Exhibition is one of the Arts Center’s most popular exhibits. Come celebrate the Howland Community Open exhibition and see which community members pieces of artwork win the awards for People’s Choice and Curator’s Choice as they’re given out. No charge.
