THIS JUST IN… Sam Health Nurse Union Rejects Contract Offer

539615_590783760974532_2032133159_nAlready working without a contract, sources at Samaritan reveal that Tuesday’s vote was, well, thanks, but no thanks.

The hospital’s three year offer of raises included 1% for the first year and 2% a year the two years after, and that may sound like a raise, but sources report that proposed increases in health insurance premiums would have still caused a net pay cut for some of the staff.

The union, Oregon Nurses Association did take the uncustomary step of presenting the offer without any recommendation to the local.
