Late Oregon Governor Tom McCall devoted a considerable amount of his life to cleaning up Oregon’s waterways, and to be sure that development was the tool of progress, rather than the engine of destruction. Although he was most active back in the 60s, his influence is still present today. This coming Corvallis Science Pub will feature historian distinguished professor of history at OSU Bill Robbins in a talk that will discuss the many facets of McCall’s expert leadership.
Included in the evening’s events will be a showing of McCall’s well known documentary Pollution in Paradise, which aired on KGW-TV back in 1962.
The presentation will begin at 6pm in the Old World Deli, located at 341 S.W. Second St. in Corvallis. It is a free public event.
