Oregon State University is hosting a traveling exhibit featuring the Giclee’ art of internationally renown artist, Betty LaDuke. The exhibit is entitled “Dreaming Cows” and is inspired by LaDuke’s travels and partnership with Heifer International, a global nonprofit whose mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the Earth.

The exhibit at the Memorial Union Concourse Gallery on Oregon State’s campus features 22 original paintings from LaDuke’s travels to Uganda, Rwanda, Peru, Ecuador, Poland, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Bruce Guenther, Chief Curator of the Portland Art Mission, praises LaDuke’s work for exhibiting “a heightened awareness of the joys and concerns of Third World women” and for moving and inspiring “the need to struggle in defense of human rights.”

The exhibit will be on display for the rest of April and concludes on Thursday, May 3, 2012. For more information, contact Susan Bourque at 541-7373-6371. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
