City Council Approves Plastic Bag Ban

Corvallis City Council voted 8 to 1 in favor of banning plastic bags in Corvallis businesses. The controversial ban was proposed last fall. Businesses with over 50 employees will have 6 months to enact the necessary changes, where businesses with 25 employees or less will have 1 year. Originally the ban called for all businesses under 25 employees to be exempt entirely from the initiative. However that is not the case in the newest version.

  1. That sucks. What am I suppose to use now to collect the cat’s litter? Those bags were useful as trash bags and litter bags. Guess i’ll drive to Albany and ask a grocery store how much they’ll sell me there bags for.
