2012 Heart of Willamette Winery Association Barrel Tour, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Heart of Willamette Wineries will hold its second annual Winery Barrel Tour. Guided tour transportation from Corvallis will be on deluxe charter buses and will highlight the area and vineyards. Tour tickets are $60 per person and include a souvenir wine glass. Ongoing July Events

Trees to Treasure, Parks & Recreation, 1310 SW Avery Park Drive, Corvallis. Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Some of the downed trees from Corvallis are recycled into finely-crafted heirloom bowls, gifts, and boxes as a fund raising partnership between Corvallis Parks & Recreation and local wood-workers. A small collection of these elegant pieces of lustrous walnut, elm, maple, honey locust and other fine woods are on display and available for sale at our administration office in Avery Park. Proceeds are used to support local Urban Forestry projects.

 

Common Courage: A century of women’s history in Benton County Oregon, Benton County Museum, 1101 Main St., Philomath. January 13 – December 1, Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Common Courage is an exhibition of women’s history that exemplifies many of the experiences and accomplishments shared by Benton County women over the past century. In 2012, we commemorate the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in Oregon. This year-long exhibition exemplifies changing roles in politics, education, occupations, fashion, and athletic opportunities, and honors Benton County women in uniform.

 

Creative Conversations: Eight Women Artists at the Benton County Historical Museum,

1101 Main St., Philomath. May 11 – July 7, Tuesday – Saturday, 10 – 4:30 p.m. Artists included in this exhibition are Donna Beverly, Margo Eastman, Miriam Edell, Aki Hill, Peggy Joyce, Sue Noel, Andrea Thornberry and Marie Wilson.

 

Leslie Green and Greg Conyne on Display at the Arts Center, 700 SW Madison Ave., Corvallis. June 1 – July 14, Tuesday – Friday, 12 – 5 p.m.  The June exhibit at The Arts Center features the works of Leslie Green and Greg Conyne. They both have a shared inspiration in nature. The materials they work in – clay, wood, stone and even metal – have a close connection with the natural world they depict. Both made work specifically for this exhibit: free-standing sculpture and wall reliefs.

 

‘Ditto!’ Quilt Raffle, on Display at Corrine Woodman Galleries, 700 SW Madison Ave., Corvallis. June 5 – July 14, Tuesday – Friday, 12 – 5 p.m. Have you seen the beautiful quilt above the computer stations in the Corvallis Public Library? The group responsible for that lovely creation is now working on a quilt entitled “Ditto!” that will be raffled off to support The Arts Center!
