Preview: Scott Kritzer – Portland’s World-renowned Classical Guitarist Comes to Corvallis

“Scott Kritzer, an intelligent and self-assured musician…with a sure technique and a musical sensitivity…he created an inner life in his playing…a thinking and caring musician.”  -Bernard Holland, The New York Times.

Scott Kritzer, world-renowned local classical guitarist, will be playing at Corvallis’ own Majestic theater on Saturday, September 15th at 7:30 p.m. Kritzer has played solo concerts at prestigious concert halls throughout the world, including Carnegie Recital Hall in New York, and London’s Wigmore Hall. His rare and spectacular talent has won him major international acclaim—he’s performed with the likes of Itzhak Perlman, Ivo Pogorelic, Cecelia Bartoli and the Emerson and KRONOS String Quartets. In 1996, Kritzer was chosen to represent the State of Oregon in a performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Kritzer is also a highly sought-after guitar instructor, and his annual Portland retreat, Classical Guitar Immersion, sells out every year. His highly anticipated performance at the Majestic Theater in Corvallis will include works by Manuel de Falla, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Francisco Tarrega, and others featured on his popular recording Romance for Guitar.  To listen to excerpts from this beautiful recording, visit http://scottkritzer.com/listen/.
